Les chutes chez les personnes âgées sont fréquentes : près d’une personne de plus de 65 ans sur trois et une personne de plus de 80 ans sur deux chutent chaque année. L’état de santé, les capacités fonctionnelles, les facteurs comportementaux ou les caractéristiques de l’environnement constituent autant de facteurs de risque. Changes in blood pressure in a large cohort of elderly individuals: Study 3C

Summary Objective Analysis of changes in blood pressure with a two-year interval, and of factors associated with this change, in a large cohort of elderly individuals. Methods Follow-up of a cohort of 9294 individuals aged 65 years and over recruited from the general population for Study 3C. Changes in blood pressure are defined as the difference in its averages between the inclusion visit and the follow-up visit at 2 years. The factors associated with changes in systolic blood pressure were identified by univariate and multivariate analyses. Hypofractionnated radiotherapy for elderly patients with prostate cancer

Radiation therapy technique and schedules could be adapted to patient's age because of a natural history of prostate cancer perceived as different, taking into account the comorbidities of patients but also a particular tolerance of elderly subjects.
